Brand Voice
What is a "brand voice?"
What we say and how we say it is called our “voice.” Think of it as our organizational personality. It includes the words and phrases we use, the images we share, the people and organizations we interact with, and the things we call our people to do.
Voice isn’t monotone; it recognizes the cultural climate and speaks into it appropriately. It doesn’t require context to be understood.
The RADIUS Church Voice
Our voice is straightforward, clear, and makes sense to people who don’t have a church background. That doesn’t mean we’re always serious-sounding; we’re willing to poke fun at ourselves. We’re quick to acknowledge our mistakes, and try to listen as much as we speak.
Background
HOW WE ARE VIEWED IN THE COMMUNITY
RADIUS Church continues to enjoy a great name in the communities that we serve. Across the Midlands of South Carolina, we continue to enjoy opportunities to exercise Gospel-centered influence in the towns and municipalities where our folks live and work. This is in large part due to the grace of God on our church, but also because the people that call RADIUS Church “home” live Gospel-focused lives oriented around discipleship and generosity.
WHAT WE ARE DOING TO REINFORCE OR IMPROVE HOW WE ARE VIEWED
We continue to press forward with our vision to glorify God by making disciples, planting churches and living generously. We reinforce our values through strong, biblical teaching on Sundays, deep community within our groups and extravagant generosity both locally and around the world.
WHY PEOPLE ATTEND RADIUS CHURCH
Most people attend RADIUS Church because they see the people of RADIUS living out real life with a real faith. We don’t engage in much marketing or self-promotion. We value unity within the universal Church as long as there is a common purpose in the spread of the Gospel. The people who call RADIUS Church “home” are our culture carriers and make an impact in their personal radiuses. Most importantly they strive to make the name of Jesus more famous than the name of RADIUS Church.
WHO RADIUS CHURCH TENDS TO ATTRACT
RADIUS Church strives to be an ethnically, racially, and generationally diverse church. We believe the Gospel transcends all cultures, races and generations and is the common ground on which believers in Jesus can gather. Therefore we tend to attract people from a wide variety of backgrounds and demographics. Our desire is for our church to reflect the demographics of the towns in which we live.
Being tone deaf is essentially not reading the room. Failing to evaluate the external environment may lead to sending out messaging at inappropriate times. Have you ever been in a room and seen something that just did not fit, whether the aesthetic didn’t match the room, or the message did not make sense in the context of the space? This happens in communications as well. This is not what you want to be remembered for.
Graphics are a form of communication. Imagine how the audience may view what you have designed. Less is always better. Whenever in doubt - choose a background, a texture, and the bare minimum in words.
