Building blocks of content
The basic unit of content on Diamond Tree is the Gem. Gems are simply collections of pages.
Each page on a Gem is made up of some combination of just three things:
- Content Blocks - Content blocks are simply normal sections of content that contain text, images, or embedded audio/video.
- Special Content Blocks - These are just like content blocks, except the content is in a colored box that can have a title and an icon. They are used to call attention to special content.
- Assessments - Assessments are questions that allow you to collect a text response from the user.
Content is modular
Creating content in Diamond Tree is not like creating content in Microsoft Word. Everything in Diamond Tree is modular, and you create content by assembling these building blocks. A Gem consists of pages, and a page consists of content blocks and assessments.
"Copy and Paste" and "Duplicate and Move"
The modular nature of Diamond Tree elements means that they can easily be copied and pasted or duplicated and moved. Any content block or assessment can be copied and pasted in another location. Gems, pages, content blocks, and assessments can all be duplicated and easily moved to a different location.
This is a very powerful feature that makes it easy to assemble new content out of existing content rather than starting from scratch.
